Grape Variety
Tullibardine 18 Year Old, The Alchemist
Product information
Description
Located at Blackford close to Gleneagles, which was once renowned for beer production, Tullibardine only opened in as a distillery in 1949, having produced ales back to to 1488 in the time of King James IV. Latterly mothballed for a decade by Whyte & Mackay, it was brought back into production in 2003 and has recently been acquired by French wines & sprits group Picard Vins & Spiritueux. Quite a chequered history to a delicious malt.
The nose is fresh and clean with cut grass. On the palate there are cereal notes mixing with sweetness and malt. The smoothness stays throughout in to a sweeter and soft finish. A lovely, gentle and complex malt.
