Product information

Description

Floral, fresh, crushed plum skins. Voluptuously sweet black-cherry fruit with a tinge of medicinal clove oil. Really bounces and crackles with acidity – deliciously fresh, and braced by supple tannins. The heat of the alcohol is the only thing that lets it down a little – it is very warm at the back of the throat. But GV.  (TC) 16/20 - Jancis Robinson.com, May '18

Founded in 1956, the Bodegas Santo Cristo co-operative has seen a great deal of investment and modernisation in recent years. Their 1200 hectares of vineyards are situated on terraces along the River Huecha and the Plasencia Plateau, in an area designated as the Somontano de Moncayo. This ripe, juicy pure Garnacha red comes from their organic vineyards and is a lovely, honest, glass of wine which offers terrific value for money, with much more finesse than usual at this level.
