80% barrel-fermented Roussanne, with (unoaked) Rolle and Grenache Blanc. A perfect glass of summer in early spring; honeysuckle and apricot, white peach; fresh fruit salad with a touch of 'tang' to bring things together. A real pleasure for herb-roasted chicken or grilled fish.

Diane de Puymorin started this unusually-named estate back in the late 1990s - the name comes from the gold and 'gull' red on the family coat of arms, symbolising southern warmth and richness that are abundant in these wines. The vineyards are on the southern slopes of the Costières de Nimes close to the Camargue on galet soils reminiscent of Châteaneuf, with amazing old vines up to 90 years of age, all farmed using organic products, fermented using indigenous yeasts. The 'Trassegum' range (love potion in local dialect!) are wonderful expressions of the local varieties; richly expressive, offering southern Rhône class with a slightly wilder feel.
