Product information

Description

A naturally fizzy crispness and delightful white flower, grapefruit/lime flavours in the mouth. At 9 g/l it is officially off-dry but finishes crisp and clean – it is delightful and goes well with shellfish or salads. Cannot go wrong with this wine.

Made from a blend of Arinto (50%), Azal (35%) and Trajadura (15%).If you’re looking for a glass of zippy, fresh tasting white wine to quaff free of guilt and pain then this might be what you’re looking for, and it’s a lot nicer than cheap Pinot or Sauvignon! Calssic Vinho Verde, but with a touch more class and elegance.

Quinta da Raza is located in Peneireiros, Celorico de Basto, in the Vinho Verde Region DOC and, unusually for Vinho Verde, benefits from gentle slopes of granite, schist and clay. The Tamega river valley vineyards are protected from the Atlantic winds whilst generally receiving more than their fair share of sunshine. At 250 metres above sea level the vines are also cooled at night, which preserves freshness when it comes to the final wine. Owner Diogo Teixeira Coelho is a direct descendant of the family which has lived on this estate since the 17th century, and has been honoured with the title of Grower of the Year by the Viticulture Commission of the Vinho Verde Region.
